The role of special coatings in ATEX environments

An ATEX environment refers to an area where there is a risk of explosion or fire. In such an environment, where just one spark can lead to a dangerous situation, safety is of paramount importance. Especially for companies working in an ATEX environment, we developed conductive coatings that help eliminate ignition sources. This reduces the risk of explosion or fire. Read more.

Within an ATEX environment, safety comes first. Not only do you want to protect your production from explosion and fire hazards, the safety of your employees also requires the highest priority. Therefore, it is important to prevent as many hazardous situations as possible caused by, for example, small particles in a static charge environment.

Safe disposal of static charge

Our conductive coatings are designed to reduce static charge, a common problem in areas where dust and other fine particles are present. Static electricity can easily result in sparks, which in turn can cause explosions. Our specially blended conductive coating helps minimise this risk by ensuring safe discharge of electrical charge.

Additional protective layer

Do not underestimate the importance of a conductive coating. Components you use in explosion-prone environments should not only be robust, but also equipped with surface treatments that resist corrosion and wear under extreme conditions. Our coatings contribute to the durability and safety of these parts by giving them an extra layer of protection. This layer protects the parts from both physical and chemical influences.

Improving safety and efficiency

At Kersten, we are constantly committed to researching and developing high-quality coatings that improve safety and efficiency in hazardous environments. We remain at the forefront of technology that not only meets current standards, but also paves the way for safer industrial practices in the future.
